So I really liked the way I drew Clover last time with that sketchy, watercolor feel and so I applied it to Popcorn this time.
Blackbird is a Beatles song and was the destined title of this piece as denoted by my iTunes shuffle playlist.
I also put in some more effort and added in a background (a pretty minimal one at that). The dead tree was referenced one of the trees on my campus that's slowly sprouting leaves now that it's Spring. One day, spring will come for Popcorn and her tree will finally bloom and show the world the sort of person she can be.
I originally drew Popcorn with her usual black hair, but it just made the picture kind of flat so I tried this interesting aqua shade and it kind of grew on me. ^_^
I'm really proud of my work on this one and I hope you guys like it too.
To add more about Popcorn: I've already mentioned how she's usually in her own world and is pretty introverted. So the environment you see isn't what's actually there, but rather what she's imagining. She admires butterflies especially because of how they metamorphose in their lifetimes. She hopes to undergo the same metamorphosis as a person and one day become the person she wants to be, which is a struggle we all know.
If you're interested in commissioning me, just let me know by a comment or a note.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
